i love a great watch. for those that bag on ROLEX, i have a few. bought one, and the rest were handed down when my dad passed. one is so BLING it is unwearable by me. they are jewelry, but amazingly tough. i have destroyed a pair of TAG watches, and have yet to put a rolex into a repair shop.

my daily watch is a casio pathfinder. but everyone needs a great watch to wear out with a great suit.

I agree, a guy's gotta have a watch or two. I personally prefer less expensive options that I can beat up on when i mountain bike, snowboard, or just wear daily. My current favorite is my Nixon time teller PU. So far it's been awesome, and looks a lot more expensive than the $60 I paid for it.

This is my current watch. I had one before and i ate crap one to many times on my DH bike and it broke (after about a year having it). i sent it in and the replaced it for 20 bucks ($90 watch)

im thinking about getting one of these though, the crazier the watch the cooler i think. Its a good conversation starter.

I have had one of these since 1985, worn it every day. Mine is a bit banged up and but keeps perfect time. Original price was about $75 at an overseas military exchange.

I have owned many watches over the years, my favorite was Rolex Submariner (stainless). Paid 1500 23 years ago and sold it for 2300 last year.
2 weeks later I missed it so much I bought a new Sub 50th. Wish I bought the Rolex Stainless Daytona 1973 price 386 bucks 2010 price 10,400. Go for it!
Below are the price increases over the years for the Daytona
    $386,$500,$580,$695,$995,$1,050,$1,125,$1,175,$2,350,$3,250,$3,850,$5,100,$6,550,$6,975,$7,900,$7,900,$9,200,$9,925,$10,400

paid off the AmEx instead of dropping coin, and got this (for $58.50 :D)...

keeps time well, it's an automatic, and I think it looks nice. BUT, that pilot's watch that I was considering would've been nice too!

i have a citizen eco drive that i bought a few years ago for about $400, i have never regretted buying it. in fact i would like to upgrade and get an even nicer watch. it is really all about what you want. why buy a toyota tacoma when a geo metro will get you around too.

I agree that a fancy watch should go with a fancy suit.

That said, I went with a $15 Walmart Timex. Lasted me 6 years before I lost it. Had to replace the strap (cheap Walmart velcro strap) every year though.

Just this past summer, I bought myself a Coleman brand watch, although I've already replaced the strap with (you guessed it) a Walmart cheap velcro one.
