Although I use one. I'm not confident it filters as good as OEM. It is very convenient. Only on a 100,000 or 200,000 mile rebuild will we really understand it does a good job of filtering. :)

If it doesn't say MOOG on the part itself, it may not be a MOOG. Good example is the Inner Tie Rods for the 6 lug, 2nd Gen - not made by MOOG. I used to work in the industry as an exec for a manufacturer to many. We had boxes for probably 40 manufacturers - all marketed as though each of our customers manufactured the parts themselves.

Moog (Federal-Mogul ) makes all their own parts. I dont know of any parts they out source for manufactuing, as they have very strict quality controls.

Here is a cool little vid about their ball joints:

Idk if you can make the tube work or not. Might be able to get one off if here tho from someone.

    K&n is an oil filter.

Um no. I used to be a VP of a company that used to sell parts to Federal-Mogul - I can guarantee you that they do not make all of the parts sold under their brand.

The ones they do build are good parts, the ones they choose not to build and instead go out and buy so that they have a full catalog, well, who knows.

The inner-tie rod end that they market, is not made by them. I spent some time Friday jumping past the gatekeepers and finally spoke with an applications engineer. Found out that they make the outer but they buy the inner from someone else. The reason that I was calling was that the inner they sell will not work with the fold-over-washer-lock-thingee, was too small in diameter to work on their inner.

What I would love to know is who manufacturers the OE inners. Who knows, they actually may make the Toyota OEM inners but contractually may not be able to sell it to anyone but Toyota... Think Eaton e-lockers.

And the inner that I was referring to was the 6 lug. I ended up cleaning real good and using red locktite. Now hopefully that was manufactured by Permatex... but now that I see red stuff in Harbor Freight, who knows! :)

My project worked with the stock box and universal tube looks kinda dumb but its working. I also went ahead and replaced the pcv it was bad. Used CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner to clean all the dirt off the maf sensor. I disconnected the negative cable on the battery so i can clean the tbs here in a few minutes. Also K&N isnt just an oil filter ive used there cai filters cost about $65 a piece. If i could afford there full cai system i would.

Cutting a hole in your intake and putting a deck plate in it.

Took a test drive and ran better than it did. After i got back i disconnected the negative battery cable and let sit for 30 min to reset the computer. Took off the tbs but didnt look like i could do anything with it so i put it back on. Does the half circle shaft on the tb that goes in the tbs have to be in a certain spot? Connected the battery back up and started it up and now it doesnt want to go over 2000 rpm when im driving. What can i do besides taking off the whole throttle body and cleaning it? Also how much would it be for the tb gaskets?

haha stupid mistake forgot to connect the wire back. sorry guys. But since the mafs was so dirty i bet the tb itself is filthy. Any special procedure i should know about before i clean this? Every little bit helps.

Oh well glad you got that figured out haha

And just make sure you know how it goes back together :p other then that just take it out. Can use anything to clean it really. I'd use brake cleaner or sea foam and something slightly abrasive.

CRC mass air flow sensor cleaner did wonders for the sensors. Would it hurt to use this for cleaning the TB now to not hurt any sensors and run some seafoam asap?

well it won't do a great a job id think. I mean if you don't take it off and all the sensors off i guess it can't hurt.

dont forget, always a good plan to get new plugs if you seafoam through the intake and change oil if you put in the crank after a 100 miles or so.
