    Hi all,

I’ve been having issues with the moonroof opening and closing for awhile which I don’t use so didn’t bother me much. Recently,
I had water dripping in the truck from the overhead console so I decided to diagnose the issue of where I had a leak.

I don’t have a leak from the windshield which was my first thought. I pulled the headliner and found that the pcb that controls the was shorted from water so that explains the moonroof issue. I pulled the motor unit and found that hold significant amount of water. I am trying to diagnose how the water got into the motor housing. Does anyone have an idea to the water getting into the housing?

i did check the drain tubes and they are functioning without any issue.

Have you verified that the moonroof drain lines aren't clogged with debris?

Yes, I checked them and they drained without issue. It's weird because the only place I can find water is in the spindle housing for the motor gear. I think they water might be getting in through the sunroof belt track but I called a friend who works on lexus' and he's stymied as well.
