After the storms here in so cal, i noticed a towel i had in the bed was soaked, i have a snug top tonneau cover thinking it was waterproof, or can it be coming from underneath the truck?

I would think even if you install weather stripping, if the rain's coming down hard / long enough, water will get in. At least a little. I don't know that any cover is actually waterproof. Also it only takes a tiny piece of the towel to be exposed to a source of water, and it will get absorb everything.

When I go to the car wash with mine, and the cover is on, I always get a little water around the tailgate area. I also never installed the supplied weather stripping.

From my experience, no tonneau cover is 100% leak proof. Usually it’s a result of the corners never being water tight due to angles and such.

You’re getting water around the sides or top of the tailgate.

I’ve got a UnderCover SE and never had water in bed till a heavy rain came through the other day. When I opened it there was water. It wasn’t a lot but it was there.

I have a tuxedo truxport tonneau and it's not perfectly watertight due to the corners as the poster above mentioned.

That said I've always seen it 90% dry in the worst of rains.

I don't think there's any water coming from under the truck given there aren't any obvious rust holes.

After Hurricane Irma my truck was wet inside the cab. I don’t think you can keep rain out of anything if there’s wind involved.

The bed is composite. There are some small drain holes, but doubtful any water is coming up through them.

Mine gets a little water either in the cab end or at the tail gate end if the wind is really blowing, or if I go through the car wash and the dryer blows some water past those little seals.
