Hey y’all. I have a 2016 tacoma (no sunroof) and just noticed there was a leak on the passenger’s side floorboard. It’s not wet on the top/side/or under the seat, just the middle of the carpet. Wonder if anyone had the same experience.

Another possibility could be the AC drain line.

Do you have a roof rack? I know on very heavy rain storms I've seen an occasional drip from the passenger grab handle that I assume is coming from the mounting holes of my OEM roof rack. I need to get in there soon and seal it.

I've already had the third brake light seal replaced so I don't think the water is coming from that.

    all good points
    1. 3rd brake light
    2. A/C drain
    3. roof racks

Either way, get on it, the 3rd brake light cleanups have been nasty on some occasions. If it's been leaking for a while, even if you haven't noticed until now, you could have a mold issue. Well,,,, any leak can cause this really.

I had this same leak. It was coming from the seam in the body/firewall that's underneath the carpet at the back-right of footwell. I had to take the carpet and insulation out, and look behind the electrical hub that's down there. I sealed it up with silicon sealant. Hopefully this is not your problem hahaha

my leak was coming from a seam in the evaporator box. but i have also seen leaks due to clogged drain lines and clogged hvac intakes.

Most likely related to the A/C condensate drain. Check that it is not clogged. If the drain is clear, then you have a leak in the evaporator box.

might want to blow it from the other side. you don't want to blow debris back into the evaporator box.

mine didn't have a crack in it, just seemed to sweat a lot. they patched it up with sealant at the dealership.
