I haven't decided on a big commitment like that yet. I probably going to take the carpet out and seal off what I can. Hopefully that works. I hear taking the dash out is a huge job, are you also going to mess with the heater core while its apart? Good luck and I'd be very interested to hear how it goes :)

After this weekend's rains, I found this passenger side leak. This explains the "mildew smell" inside the cab. This will be a good project for next week. Out comes the carpet. This gives me a good excuse to install some sound deadening material on the floor.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
One more cause for the list. Previous owner of one of my trucks ran CB wiring through the firewall under one of the rubber grommets for the a/c on passenger side. It kicked my butt searching for the leak in all the above places. Took out the wiring, wet floors went away.

The blower motor makes a sound like an old tyme oscillating fan. I suspected the blower motor is on the way out. There may be a leak connection.

Check the blower drain hose gromit and also the other rubber gromits by the passenger side. I went through and replaced and sealed with caulking all the rubber gromits. This helped a lot.

Well, when the rain finally stops, I have the supplies to fix the leak. In the meantime, I have the cab covered with a tarp.
