Hello Tacomaworld, So I have been having a little issue with water getting into my truck. I've researched on the site for awhile with members posting similar problems but I could not find any helpful solutions.

What happens is whenever I drive in heavy rain/puddles or go wheeling through water I start to develop pools of water on both front floor boards, more so on the passenger side first. When I wash the truck however there is no water to be found, spraying the wheel wells and letting water run down the truck from the roof. I have no fender liners and my fenders are cut 3 inches and the pinch weld is hammered down, I also have the CMC done. My truck is an 05 DCSB. I've posted a pic for a small reference, Ill take more of the wheel wells when I get a chance.

I have my LED bar wire running through the large grommet on the driver side, but other than that no.

EDIT. My assumption was wrong. Sounds like the grommets under the cab could be the problem.

Does it pool under the carpet or on top of the floor mats? How deep of water are you going thru? There are three little rubber drain plugs under the carpet and they could have come out/loose and are letting water in

Wouldn't that let water in with car washes and heavy rain while parked? Because it seems to be only when driving through water.

Make sure your grommets are secure. Also, you could potentially have a leak at your windshield that is allowing water to come in. Also, your AC inlet as previously mentioned could be a cause for the leak as well. If I was in your position I would actually throw a smoke test in there and let it run until I find where the leak could be coming from, from the outside. (Just an idea) it may not be practical however.

Check your lightbar wiring and hole in which you may have drilled into. A lot of these problems people run into are sometimes self induced issues. It happens to the best of us if it is something of your doing and there is no shame if it is.

i know you said the problem is n both sides, but it wouldn't hurt to add caulking where the wire goes thru the grommet.

i had water traveling into my cab at wiring going into the cab in that grommet..

Under the carpet only, I need to check those plugs. Really the deepest so far is maybe a foot.

Ill need to go in and check the grommets, and it seems to be only when driving through water though which makes me doubt the windshield or AC inlet has anything to do with the problem. As for the extra wiring, I pulled the wire through the grommet along with the factory wires so I guess I could go and seal it up just to be safe, but I haven't drill any extra holes yet.

That is where the problem lies. Broken pinch welds and no fender liners. This would allow water in both sides during water crossings.

Multiple people have these mods done without issues, I thought it might be the pinch weld that needs to be sealed once it was punched down but I sealed that up after I hammered it for good measure. As for the fender liners, the truck should still be sealed by the fire wall and door jams.

But that begs the questions :

Did it leak before you beat up the pinch welds?

How well did you seal them up and what did you use...?

I would not know if it leaked or not before the mods, because the truck was stock and never wheeled until after the modifications. I used a can of flex seal, and layered it down fairly thick.

Well looks like I have a few things to look at:
Seal all grommets on fire wall and floor boards
    Check windshield and AC inlet
    Check pinch weld/ wheel wells

Thanks everybody for the input, Ill definitely report back with what I find.
