Water trapped somewhere in rear of cab...

** Resolved! The driver side step bar was full of water **

So about a year or so ago, I began hearing sloshing/water rushing noises coming from behind the driver side of my 2005 PreRunner Access cab. I've read that people say its the gas tank, but today thanks to the hard freeze, I got confirmation that its not the gas tank. I'm now Hearing ice chunks bang around, combined with liquid sloshing.

So I'm going to have to get this resolved...Floor boards front/back are dry. Doors aren't making any noises when opened/shook. I want to remove this plastic box insert to make sure water isn't under it, but none of these screws come out. They just spin, but don't back out. Are they just dummy screws that simply yank out, like a plug?

Has anyone dealt with this issue on early second gens? are their body plugs at the very back of cab that can be yanked to see if there is water collected somewhere?

Basics. Tires, painted headlighes, UHLM, baby winch in the bed, and heated mirrors :)
I once spent days chasing a clunking sound, just to clean out my cab and find a glass bottle rolling against the seat mounts lol. Are there any small loose items in those storage bins that could maybe mimic rushing water? Like a box of screw that opened up or something?

I will say I have heard some sloshing when the fuel tank is about full. I’m not sure there are any cavities under that storage bin where water could collect and not result in wet carpet, but I could be wrong. I think those screws are quarter turn plugs, turn then pop the “screw head” out with a flathead or body clip pliers.

Are you sure the water isn't in the door?
I've seen water in doors multiple times from clogged door drains.

I found it. My driver side step bar was full of water. Removed it, drained the water and drilled some drainage holes on the underside. How that much water got into it, I dunno.

    Thanks all :)
