    Hey guys,
This winter I've been finding a wet spot under the driver's side floor mat. I have a 2019 TRD OR. New windshield put in several months ago. I live in Oregon so it rains a lot. Just noticed it a couple weeks ago after cleaning the floor mats.

Other than taking it back to the windshield guys, should I be checking anything else under there? It's a small amount if water. No pooling, but enough that on cold mornings I have moisture on the inside of my windows.

    TIA!

If you've had the vehicle through more than this winter, but you only noticed the water after the windshield was replaced, I'd start there.

Concern would be rust, wiring corrosion and mold.

Get back to the glass shop

Do you have a sunroof? If yes... check that the sunroof drain tubes are clear. I parked outside and debris from nearby trees during rainstorms eventually clogged my drain tubes and water started appearing in my driver side footwell.

I used a 6 foot cut length of bicycle cable housing (5mm diameter), and pushed it through the drain holes to clear them. Took all of two minutes after I had the cable housing in hand.

No sunroof. I'll check in with the glass guys. Probably didn't notice it initially because it was replaced during the dry season.

I checked the windshield cowl area. Sprayed water all over the windshield. Cleaned out the gutters and drain hole. Didn't really see where water would build up enough to seep in.

Looked under the driver's side dash. No obvious water track to follow. Maybe a little damp on the carpet near the center console hump.

Dumb question, but you're not bringing the water into the vehicle every time you enter, are you? Lots of snow here this winter and it's rare not to track in snow which then melts...

I thought about it. The first time I noticed the water, my wife had taken the truck to the coast on a rainy, windy day to photograph the king tides. I had guessed the water was from her getting in and out with wet gear. I don't think it's that. After letting it dry out, I'd get back in after a rainy day and find a damp spot again before getting in.

Also check for water behind the driver’s side kick panel. There have been reports(threads) detailing gross electrical problems due to the windshields leaking.

Have you messed with your firewall any? I ran my trench light wiring through the rubber boot in my firewall (driver side) and noticed sometimes I get some water on my driver side floor mat when it rains.

This is how I had water under my carpet. Snow was tracking onto the floor mats, melting, then draining down the anchor holes on the floor mats. Now I keep small towels in the truck to lay on the floor mats to soak up the water.

my windshield has been replaced a few times on my 2019 off road. they messed up the glue around the edge of the glass one time and i could hear the wind making a whistling sound through the gap when i would get to about 45-50 mph+. have you heard anything different since the windshield was replaced? i would think thats the main way water would be getting in if the windshield was installed incorrectly.
