    Hi all,

Looking to get a waterport and install it for use when I go surfing/camping for some onboard clean water.

I want a camper shell installed. Does anyone have one installed inside the bed rails? The issue is the 1st gen bed has no stock rails for mounting like the newer trucks.

Looking for advice. I am considering mounting some cargo track with rivnuts then using that as a mounting surface. Of course, I'm most interested in the cheapest and easiest solution...

    Thoughts?

Looking at something like this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/waterport-tonneau-cover-diy-drop-mount-bracket.546691/

    Easiest and cheapest solution:

6 feet of 4" black ABS plastic pipe with a few fittings and an RV shower nozzle.

If you have a rack/camper shell, mount it to the outside of the rack so the sun heats it up. Use a bike pump to pressurize it.

I used rivnuts to mount my hi-lift to my bed, you could do something very similar for the shower if you're mounting it inside the bed.

    Thanks!

Looks like you made those nut plates yourself? I'd love to find a source for something like that, I'm less handy than you it seems.

I currently have a DIY camp shower setup using a weed sprayer (hand pump to pressurize) and a hose/nozzle. Looking for something more permanently installed. Don't enjoy the look of the DIY tube on the outside of my rack.

May look for a less rigid mount like: [IMG]

Yeah, made them myself. The welds are atrocious, though. I've gotten better since then, lol.

The brackets were really easy though. Just some ~1" wide 1/8" bar from home depot, a vice, hacksaw, and a drill is all you really need. You can even just bend the flat bar on a rock or something. Something like a light pole will give you a nice smooth bend.

Honestly, I've seen some commercial options that look worse than the ABS pipe ones. You put them out in the open (like on the rack) so that the sun will warm the water.

I just find myself cruising up and down the isles of home depot looking for various brackets, hinges or whatever that will help, so I don't fabricate everything form scratch.
