I've only had one scare me, I was in my dads ram 1500 and an opposing lane semi pushed a boat load of water at my windscreen, I was driving blind for 4 seconds at highway speeds.

I put it up there with having a hood come up.

I feel your pain. I lived in Houston back in the late 70's and again around 1984, and when it rains the streets flood like crazy. Have a Hurricane come through and it's unreal. Same goes for Louisiana. The feeder roads next to the loop 610 were really bad. I used to drive my 74 Honda Civic really fast just to get it to hydroplane. Makes for a great Anus Pucker Moment, thats for sure.

I love blasting through known puddles on my route to an from work. It cleans the mud off the splash guards really well.

All-terrains will still throw the water up, trust me. That guy's gripe was the hydroplaning. Congrats on getting married!

Apparently you have not been married before. Whatever money you have now, spend it. It will all be hers (“ours”) after the wedding which means YOU cannot use it anymore. Just saying. Personal experience.

I did my time 2005-2015. For a bit I was changing wheel and carrier bearings annually.

Won't go back there anytime soon. Such an angry city. Plus my ex lives there and I don't like the 1 : 7.21-million odds of bumping into each other.

I liked it back when I lived there, but times change. I drove through on my way to Victoria back in 2012 and couldn't believe how large it had become with the new outer loop. I kept looking for a Sugar land exit on 59 South, and realized it has been swallowed up.

I actually love living here, despite the terrible roads and drainage--but I live close to downtown, and frequent the food/drink/nightlife around here.

I offered my daughter $10k cash to elope. It didn't work. But, regarding the original issue, I live in south Florida so we get the same torrential downpours and occasional street flooding till the storm drains get a chance to catch up. I slow down and don't have any issues.

That's a good one. My Dad offered to buy me a one way bus ticket anywhere in the U.S. and $50.00 dollars cash when I was 18, I turned him down.
