is it possible to get the extras that are just bolted to the tent purchases separately? like the tie down straps, tent latches? I like the looks of that stuff in the photos and would be interested in just getting those from you if possible.

I might be installing the latches I got (see below) this weekend. Probably gonna use short bolts/nut with a backer plate for strength, instead of rivets.
As for the ladder hooks, I was going to source those locally don't want to wait 6-8 weeks. So, no, won't need any add-ons mentioned.

I really want one, but was hoping to see if there were a larger version available so I could fit me, my wife and child. Is that a possibility? I understand it would cost more if it was.

Hm. I'm trying to debate what I want to do. Part of me loves my Prinsu's, part of me doesn't want my tent any higher than it already is. Very tempted to sell/swap out the front rack..

That’s exactly what I have. Yakima racks on my cap and OEM cab roof rack. The Yakima bars let the tent clear the antenna and roof rack with no problem.

I am working on a way to mount the tent on the prinsu. I think I am going to use an extra cross bar to raise it up waiting on t-nut hardware currently as I had to buy different mounting feet for my prinsu since I had the older design :pout:. will post pictures once I get everything figured out. I need to make a hoist to my ceiling too this weekend.

but do you plan to just do two additional crossbars where you already use the mounting hardware?

So I only opened and closed mine a few times, and I'm wondering if I'm threading the straps/buckles properly. I'm notoriously bad at threading tie-downs incorrectly. Anyways, it seems the straps stick out when I have the tent closed, and I'm worried they are eventually going to fray making it very difficult to thread through the buckles. Does anyone have a close-up of these?

so I am going to be trying a couple ideas I have, but I thought about putting a block in-between where the tent mounts to the cross bar. thought is I just used an extra 1x2 cross bar I have and sandwich them also have some of the older smaller series 15 cross bars I might use. I bought some coupling plates to secure the bar to the bar mounted to the rack. my plan is to offset the tent so its not resting on the main mounting feet idk how this is going to go over might be to much but worth a shot. reason I was going to do it this way is I can just take 8 screws out and remove the tent from the rack but still have my toprac on but just missing two bars till I add the tent back on.
I kind of went crazy and ordered these from a local manufacture since I needed mounting feet to my camper shell. these are kind of over kill but I wanted it!. :anonymous:

I ordered from here! Cheaper and they cut and make prinsu cross bars to order. hardware seems to be on sale often too.

See I've considered this: since I have like 7? 8? cross bars on the camper shell rack, take 2 or 3 of them and actually put them on TOP of the remaining cross bars (which would still be attached to the sides of the rack) and just use longer mounting hardware so the tent secures around 2 crossbars. maybe?
