oh that does look good! I think that's my plan, just longer bolts to make it around the double crossbar.

question though, have you layed in it like that? does it sag between the two crossbars or do you have more support in the middle too?

Hey, no i don't get any sagging and i don't have middle support, but my girlfriend and i only weigh, 270lbs combined. Haha.

Itd be easy to add middle support, i imagine Chandler can get another set of hardware.

Thanks. Are there any reviews I can check out before getting on the list? My research so far isn't showing a big amount of difference between the hard shell RTT's other than latches and struts.

Many of us have written reviews in the thread but let us know any specific questions and we would be happy to answer them.

I'm following this post. I want to replace my soft RTT before a trip I'm taking in June to Colorado. If this group buy doesn't go forward by then I'll be picking one up from Roofnest while on my trip. If this gets more people in on this buy, I'll be in for one as well. Looks like a pretty great deal, I finally got to sort through all 47 pages while I wasn't at work!! Thanks guys!

Roofnest looks like they use this exact tent along with many other companies. Really they all come from the same Chinese mfgr, built to certain specs, and then rebadged. $1700 shipped is a steal and I would sign up for this one if I were you.

Trust me, if the buys goes off in time for me to get it, I will definitely buy one here. I'd prefer to save the money but the trip is already planned for mid June.

Not to talk bad about companies, but I've seen the current roofnest tents in person, they're basically selling similar tents at $500-$700 more for older versions. My guess is they bought a ton of them up front, can't get the newest versions until they sell their current stock.

Not only that once you add in shipping they're really price gouging. A lot of them are just flash in the pan companies trying capitalize on the RTT craze. IMO there's only a few companies innovating when it comes to RTT's, everyone else is rebranding. I think it's great that someone is willing to deal directly with the Chinese mfgr's and ship them directly without the middle man branding and adding margins. Props to you guys for bringing these to market.

When are we thinking this will come to fruition? I need to set up a couple camping trips and want to know when I can expect to receive this tent?
    Thank you guys

The group buy only moves forward if people commit, if you want to commit I can put your name down

    Good deal

I'd like to but if it doesn't proceed in time, I can't be a part of it. If you want to put me down for a black outer, grey inner tent that's fine. But if it's not happening in the time frame I need, I will have to back out unfortunately. I'm leaving June 15th and need to have it by then.

Like I’ve stated a couple of times, the buy comes to fruition when people are interested so I can’t say when you should expect to receive a tent. If you are willing to front the cash for the rest of the tents I will place the order tonight and could have a rough estimate for delivery by end of week
