I only found good pics on a 4runner, but I think I can make a larger model work on my Taco, my mattress is 52" wide anyway! You can put me down for the larger one instead of the smaller, I think I would put that one at 5.

What are the dimensions on this larger tent? I've been loosely following this thread and am interested... My current RTT is about perfect size for me, the GF, and 2 dogs - So i'd like to keep about that 56" wide sleeping area.

Just took a trip and kinda got a little sick of fighting with putting the cover back on my Tepui. Anyone have experiences to directly compare this tent to a traditional soft RTT?

Duh - I just read back and saw that the "large" model is about 53" wide

I'd also be mounting this on my long-bed CBI rack which has the bars spread at 56" long (front to back). Does anyone know if there would be an issue having approx 20" overhanging the rear-most mounting point? And are the mounts on the tent at fixed distances or are they adjustable to accommodate different cross bar spacings?

I believe 54” wide, other dimensions are the same. Mounts are fixed. Post#100 has a picture.

Thanks!! I'm late to the party here I know...

Those tracks are exactly what I need that you can adjust the mounts front to back.

You might have issues fitting that many folks/animals. It's really about the size of a full bed. Coming from the soft was a no brainer for me since it's just me, and it's the easiest setup and teardown you will find. I love my hardshell.

Can confirm...Scotty was set up and crawling into his hard shell before I even had the zipper on the cover undone. :luvya:

I so very badly want to get in on this GB just because of how fast and painless setup and take down is. :annoyed:

When you're constantly doing it alone, the convenience really does make a difference. That's the main reason I'm here!

It never gets old hearing you talk about this haha. I miss the massive space inside that CVT but man I do not miss packing that thing back up, especially after rain or just dew gets all over it. If I had a trailer like yours though, I'd have one like that all over again for the room.

I was miserable packing the tent in the freezing rain and snow on that KY trip.

It gets old. But you had room for family (if needed) and able to just leave yours chilling. Nice big awning cover and possible annex. Lots of plusses to the soft shells if you're willing and able to deal with the packing and unpacking

Sign me up for the big tent please. Black shell with tan fabric

Sorry again for being that new guy - but are the new tents shipping with that quilted headliner as shown in post #1 vs the fabric that the first round of tents looks like it has?

Edit - after more reading it looks like the tents do have that fancy quilted headliner!

Chandler and I made a video about this awhile back, I have no idea where it is though lol. I had a Tepui ayer for a little while, my biggest thing is the workout you get going from once side to the other, tossing shit back and forth, fighting to get the cover on and off. And don't even get me started on the zipper for the cover, Chandler can attest for how jank mine was, if you got any of the fabric caught in the zipper it was game over, either you had to use pliers to destroy your fabric or you weren't closing that cover lol. Setting up the hardshell is a breeze, I was just taking off my cover by the time Chandler had the tent popped up with all the windows set up.

I meant to ask, can you provide a few more pictures closer up? to show the gap and such, and also did you simply get longer bolts or did you change out more of the hardware than that?
