Sorry for the late reply. yes and no, so I may not continue with the current offering of the wedge as I have something in the works (along with so many other things lol) that will likely take place of the current wedge. Its still to be decided but I will have more info in the coming weeks

lol I guess you got me there!

without experience I can already confirm 4 people will not work in these tents. unless they're micro-people.

haha I have the "large" tent on order from the last round and I'm a little nervous with my GF, myself, and 80lbs worth of dogs in the tent. (one 60lb and one 20lb dogs).

We all fit comfortably in my Kukenam tent but I know I'm losing about 3" of width and 14" of length

no chance of even getting my pups in the tent. one is right at 100 lbs and screw lifting him that high lol. as long as you can sleep cuddling I'd assume you'll be fine. my issue will be not wanting to be touched while sleeping haha

Next step is to devise a ramp for the big dog. I usually scoop him up and take a couple steps up the ladder and toss him in. Friggin dog - the only time he WANTS to be carried is across mud puddles.

I have no concept of personal space left while sleeping lol

@Laro25 and @travis6888 - I got the tent mounted up this past weekend. Shoot me a PM when you guys want to try to meet up. Easier for me on the weekends in general unless you can meet me in the sunnyvale area during the day.

anyone who installed the tent on a prinsu install any sort of rubber mat or pad between the bottom of the tent and the prinsu? I used some metal flat bar to space the tent above the side rails of the prinsu. While driving over some bumpy sections of road, I can hear the bottom of the tent bumping against the side rails. Was thinking of maybe using some sort of rubber weather stripping on the side rails or put some sort of thin-ish rubber mat or rubber shelf liner between the two surfaces to prevent them from making contact. Would be worried about the bottom of the tent chipping/cracking over some bumpy washboard roads or something.

That was my plan before I moved to the canopy. I planned on using trim lok for the side rails to dampen any movement

I'll probably just start with that and see how it helps dampen the impact. I'll revisit it after taking it off road on some bumpy roads and see if more padding is necessary. thanks @ChandlerDOOM

How thick was the flat bar that you used? I was thinking 3/16 would be enough.

I had 1/4" and 1/8" on hand so i stacked them (3/8" total). The gap between the top of the cross bar and side panels are about 1/4"

the thing I didn't account for is even with the tent bolted down real well, the fiberglass tent itself will flex and bump the siderails. going to slap some rubber edge trim on it and see how that does before I look into something a bit thicker before I do some more wheeling.

same issue I am having when im on the trails or bumps. I am currently used extra two side rails to raise it up so i stacked two prinsu rails together than bolted my tent to it makes it easier
To take off for me. I need to slide back my tent some. Also spread out the bars more i was looking for some kind of rubber puck or somthing i can put up front cause i do get a good amount of flex on the trail it hits the cab prinsu rack.

same scenario with two bars bolted together. i plan to just raise the center under the tent rails and leave the side overhanging so it doesnt have anything to hit.

I thought about just double stacking some crossbars but i wanted the tent to sit a slow as possible on the rack. I do like the hockey puck idea though I’d look for something a bit thinner
