Hard to tell how the awning is connected at the top but you can clearly see that it zips closed. Wouldn’t be hard for someone who can sew to add a zipper to the tent portion but would be an extra expense. Or add velcro but it would still need to be sewn on.

Morning, sorry I was driving pretty late and just woke up. So tired haha.

I have not forgotten about you guys, I’ve been waiting for this tent to come to see if the construction has changed and if I can do something better than what I was thinking. It still looks like the best case is going to be using a second outer skin that you currently have, but it needs to be connected somehow. I’ll have something, just want to make sure whatever I get comes right and not super difficult to do

no worries! I'm not impatient was just having fun chatting in here.

so you say we already have a second outer skin? would it not be easier to just replace the outer skin we have with the new outer skin that has 2 doors?

Should have worded it better. I was thinking that adding a second over hang panel would be best. The new one would serve as the overhang while the existing overhang would be your solid door for night

Imo that would be best minimal effort approach that still accomplishes the end goal of having a separate solid door. Using the doors that are on the new tent would require a good amount of sewing

so it would just be something we would need to attach to what we have? by...sewing?

Yes, but trying to keep it sewn free but using the existing rivets the currently hold the fabric to the roof. Or possibly clips.
