I’m selling mine as well, located central Texas DFW area. First born on the way and upgraded to a bigger RTT asking 1600$. We’ve loved this tent just not enough space for our growing family now. B595044B-C113-4ACE-B919-ECE93B6D01E1.jpg

For those who were looking for latches...

I finally got around to putting latches on the RTT

The one strap doesnt bother me too much, but the second one is annoying as hell when its cold out. In the end, I'd like to only use the latches, but just want to test them out for a while before I completely depend on them.

I purchased two sets of these
    https://amzn.to/2Cj1COp

I had to shorten the throw as much as possible and cut off half of the threads that were hanging out the bottom of the arm so it would fit. Ideally, a set that had an inch less throw would be ideal but then again, with the overhang of the top of the shell vs the bottom, you might not have enough angle to clear that. Of course, with that angle, the latches dont want to naturally stay closed, but that was one reason I made sure the ones I purchased had the spot for a safety pin. There was a carabiner on there temporarily but I bought lynch pins that I can put through there and the ring will wrap around the handle at the same time so it doesn't move.

Cut the backer plates out of aluminum to spread out the load a little more.

I tried these first, but the ones Amazon sent me were the correct model number but they didn't have that safety hole for a pin or lock even though the picture shows one.

I save myself several grand from buying a RTT and just did the redneck mod to my commercial shell to camp... (because short bed and I'm way taller than 5'1".

This is the only time I've use the MaxTrax on my truck. They make good levelers.

nice! I bought similar latches a few months ago but just haven't taken the time to try to install them. Looking forward to see how you like the latches after some more use.

Inquiry for current Waypoint RTT owners...

We've happily spent almost 30 nights in the tent since acquiring it from ChandlerDoom in July. It has been phenomenal and has met or exceeded almost all expectations, especially for the price point. Time and time again, though, I'm stuck wondering why the heck the roof is concave. Wife and I attended Overland Expo East down in NC this past November and were subject to days of rain, frigid winds, and sub-freezing temperatures over the course of our weekend there. The tent held up great... but it gave me a chance to see hundreds of RTTs, and dozens of hardshell ones, and none of the others I saw had concave or near-flat rooflines, each was more of a "bubble" or raised center roofline, alike the curve of the highway to shed rainwater..

We've had this tent out in heavy rain nights many times, and each morning when I close the tent and we pack up camp, I get drenched as I pull the straps to compress the tent. How are you all getting around this, if at all? It seems to puddle at least a gallon or two of water in between the fancy "S" shapes in the roof, which is more than enough to soak me as I try and put it away. Any input/help is appreciated.

P.F.A. - this thing still looks badass on the WK2 in my humble opinion ;-)

    Nice jeep!

I usually pull it down a little while inside and the window is zipped closed.

Chandler will provide if enough guys commit. That is the problem is guys want it now where it's kinda a buy it and forget it till it arrives kinda purchase. Seems like a couple guys are willing to let their's go I also considered letting mine go, a lot of guys messaged me about it but it's kinda a pick up only type of product so most fell through. These are truly a great tent so it's worth the wait or if you can buy one from someone here it's worth pursuing.

Mine will be for sale closer to summer but already have a few people who inquired before. But if you ever want to check it out sometime when its not raining, just let me know (Sunnyvale/Fremont area)

+1 to what he said. I was messaging with Chandler the other week about something else and he was essentially saying he can run the group buy but doesn't have enough people committed. If there is enough interest, start up another list and see if there is enough people to get another shipment going.

    Thanks for the quick replies.

I would definitely want to check it out - esp since we live a few minutes away.

Is that the list on page 1? or does a new one need to be started?

I think someone tried to start one in the last few pages but I haven't paid attention to it. Not sure if the one in the OP is accurate.

If anyone's in the CO area and wants to see one in person, I'd be happy to show it off. Great tent...really makes camping so much easier especially il for impromptu stuff like me.
