    Any way out there to get rid of the old looking dash controls and layout and update them with something more from this time period lol.

    Im sure you can find some knobs that will fit on the stock vent controls and put in a nice headunit or a in-dash screen if you want a modern look. Also some gauges or a scanguage or ultraguage would help. Thats all I can think of..
