Not sure what kind of mud you ride in but were I ride it doesn't just come off with the hose.

uumm well, its dirt right, then water gets on it (usually from rain) and bam! It is now mud!

jk, but usually most of it comes off with the hose, and i have to take a sponge under the fenders to get all of it. Nothing warranting a coat of wd40

I don't use it, there's better stuff for less money. Just my opinion.

well where i live its not just "mud" its black muck that stinks, i guess cause i live in a rain forest the mud is different, it stains very easy, if it gets on your skin it doesnt come off to easy either, i spray my whole quad but i dont use the WD40 cans, i buy it by the gallon cause its WAAAAY cheaper and spray it with a spray bottle, you use less. Almost all IF not all the motocross guys use it on the bikes after they wash it mostly to get water off of the places you just cant see or reach. plus it helps inhibit rusting on surfaces

Yeah there are millions of other stuff to use for less money, but see here in Hawaii we dont have that luxury of selection like you mainlanders do sad to say, and yeah we can order it, but ordering stuff usually means that the shipping will cost more then the item. So WD40 it is! i love the stuff

I usually spray a light coat of WD-40 on my frame, wheels, the underside of the plastic fenders, muffler, and parts of the motor on my dirt bike right before I hit the forest trails. After a fun day of riding, all the dirt and mud seems to wash off rather easily afterwards.

I used is yesterday to fog four buckets of 8", 12" spikes and 18" long pieces of 1/2" rebar left over from a retaining wall project. I want the hardware to look good for the next project. The WD-40 fog displaces water and prevents surface rust.
