We drove the length of NH, from Canada to the seacoast, and it was AWESOME!

Day 2 will probably start around Waitsfield, but that's an easy trip from Burlington. I am thinking of swinging it through Burlington to check out the burl forest, but I want to see it myself prior to taking the trip through the city and make sure it's worth it. Other than that, Waterfront Park is nice, between that and Church Street it can be a good way to spend an afternoon, but this is about getting off the beaten path so I'm not sure I want to spend any time there at all.

Started planning out a weekend trip last year. Got the red section ran but got a late start and hit one nasty section that held us up a bit. I need to figure out a way to import PDFs to Gaia to make navigating Vermont a lot easier.
If you want a mainly dirt road trip look for the puppy dog route dual sport ride.

Lmk if you find out how to important PDFs into Gaia. I’ve wanted to do the same for a while but never figured out how.

Me and SR71 scouted a route from the Canadian border to rt 2 in VT last summer it is almost all dirt using the power line access, bonus is you can hit the radar base for a scenic stop and there is a free public camp spot hidden along the way as well, might be a nice leg in your adventure.

I think I'm looking at the power lines you're talking about, they cross the border in the area of Norton and Averill right?

    K. I can be convinced. Either way, I could go up and spend a few days in Burlington for the fun of it and tack on this to get back home to RI :)

There isn’t an easy way to do it. I tried converting files but haven’t found one that would do the file sizes for free.
Gaia website says it was supposed to be out last year, then they updated to working on it with no release date. That’s the only thing I haven’t liked with Gaia and don’t want to pay for Avenza too

I would have to double check my maps but yes it's in that area, the actual "road" to the border is not under the power lines it is slightly to the West and looks like some ones driveway, but it will bring you to a marker in the middle of clearing marking the border.

Yup, I got the GPX from @SR-71A and it's right where I was thinking from your description. Thanks guys, I've got some new direction on that region now!

    Ok I put 1 together...
Top to basically the bottom, 353 miles total and at least 75% is all off road.
I am not familiar with any of it other than the fact that it is 100% all legal roads.
I can send you a complete list of the roads if you want.
I can also find all points of interest that is near or on this route.

Also this is VT only up to class 4 roads so I doubt we will be stuck anywhere.
Besides if we do it's very easy to re-route and get back in it.
NH wasn't this way on account of class 6 roads.

I think Zach is right. In VT a class IV is the same as a class VI in NH. Or they're very similar. I think...

I think an NH Class 6 can be gated off where a VT 4 cannot. Same terrain though I think.

Ok that makes sense. This is starting to sound like a pretty good trip.
