Got some nice set of tires too!!!

I admit I spoil my kids too but I demand high grades and taking every AP class possible.

So far it’s working since I have one off at UC Davis majoring in Cell Biology with a minor in Neuroscience.

    Merry Christmas!!!

Sad to see haters in here. Congrats to the new Taco in the family. May your efforts to provide such a set of wheels to your son never go unnoticed but rather motivate him to work hard.

I have a high bar for my kids too. One graduated at 16 and now works for NASA. The other is a professional athlete. BUT I never gave them anything. I wanted to teach them that life doesn't owe you anything and if you want it, earn it yourself. Maybe that sounds hard but life is hard. That being said, I've seen many kids who are good kids and appreciate what their parents do for them. I was just have fun at the OP expense. I hope he takes it with the grain of salt it was meant to be.

Now you better believe I will be spoiling my grandkids to the max :bananadance:

I didn't even have a license at 16. I didn't go to school or have a job no one would sign off on it. It's not like I needed transportation or would have been able to afford it.

Yeah, I had my motorcycle license at 15 and didn't get my car license until I was like 19. No one ever noticed lol

I would have liked to have a 4x4 Toyota truck back then but I'm sure I would have taken it off road and got it stuck in the mud somewhere.

Congratulations to him and you both. I’m grateful to live in a time like this, a couple hundred years ago it would have been a mule. Who knows my great great grandchildren may have those flying backpacks I dreamed of owning as a kid. He looks very happy, you knocked out it of the park.

It would have been a mistake to buy me a nice automobile like that when I was 16 :mudding::bananadead::itllbuffout:

Hopefully your kid has more sense than I did lol

I thought this thread was going a whole different direction when I read the title. I was afraid to click on it.

Forget the haters. Acting like you got your 16 year old a lambo.

Geez guys, it’s a 7 year old Toyota truck not a brand new Range Rover. If the guy can afford to buy his kid a newish, reliable vehicle that’s probably considerably safer than something 15+ years old why bash him for it? As many of you said the kid may well crash it but if he does at least he’ll have modern safety features. Also these trucks are slow AF so the urge to race will be pretty low after he gets smoked a couple times.

Anyways, hope your son enjoys his new vehichle, takes it lots of cool places and maybe picks up a babe or two! Also, nice color choice!

Looks like a happy kid. And... I've never seen a Brinks armored truck in a funeral procession.

Fellow Okie. I hope you opted for the third pedal! Is it white or Lunar Rock? Most Oklahoma dealers wouldn’t go off MSRP so I went elsewhere but at least you got LED lights.

    Dang!

That's a great surprise...and since you have been teaching him since he could touch the pedals, I'm sure he has learned quite a bit.

He's a reflection of you...and to give him that much responsibility at that age says a lot about the trust you put in him.

Congrats to you and your son!

Very nice. I debated a taco when our first turned 16 but went with a lightly used outback instead. Seemed like a better Wisco choice for a brand new driver.

Damn. I got a 72 Pinto wagon with an automatic trans. That I bought from the neighbor for $300 worth of paper route money. I sure would have liked a new Toyota pickup though.
