Not being a troll but the 3.5 is only marginally more efficient and the 4.0 has the goods at the low end. I tested about 4 2016 Tacomas trying to convince myself I could live with it. I rarely need to go about 2,000 RPM around town and when I am at 3,000 RPM with my 2013 I am haulin' balls.
Gen 2 FTW! I fully expect to be flamed or have someone say I was too poor to afford a gen 3 (I wasn't). One look through all the problem threads is all you need to see on the gen 3 forum.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. If you have to bash on other Tacomas, so be it.

I would think information, good or bad, is exactly why we are on these forums. It isnt bashing to point out that the newer motor is not as good as ours.

NO one said it didn't. Now you are trying to invent another angle to justify your unjustifiable rant. Grow up. He wasnt bashing. He was enjoying the benefits of the truck he has. The whole fucking point of TW.

If I wanted better I would just buy f250 or chevy with a diesel, way more torque. Nothing wrong with 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation, take your pick and be happy.

Hell, to each their own... Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one right? o_O That being said, I do wish the 3.5 had a bit more low end pull.. It can feel a little sluggish at times. But that's to be expected due to engine design. Quick fix, just push harder or activate the ECT button.. Night and day difference!
