Your money your opinion what were you expecting from us? If you wanted to stir the bees nest why did you make your thread on the 2nd Gen forum. Why not make it in 3rd Gen?

Stick around. Maybe you'll learn something. But when you click on a troll thread, obvious by the title. What do you expect?

Well my option is this, I think Toyota made a huge mistake by ending the TRD supercharger and has no plans to make one for the 3.5 motor, because of that I think the 4 liter 2nd gen will be popular for a long long time to come because they can be supercharged. For those that want the extra power they will have to decide if they want a 2nd gen that can be supercharged or a 3 gen that can't. I guess the facts are Any supercharged Tacoma will stomp the new Pro tacoma 1st gen or 2nd gen including a Tacoma 20 years old, 1997 3.4 supercharged 300 hp.
Of course the new tacomas have lots and lots of options and whistles and an amazing traction system but no way to increase the bottom line horse power.
So I'm glad we all have lots of choices on what to buy as they are all great trucks,
I'm at 506,000 miles and I love my truck, so there too

I test drove a 2018 offroad while my truck was getting inspected at the dealer. The truck itself was very nice, but I definitely noticed less lower end power. With mine I barely touch the gas and it takes off. With the 2018 it felt like I really needed to get on the accelerator to get it to go. I would worry about towing with it. With the 4.0 it doesnt work much to pull a heavy trailer. Otherwise the truck was great. Great interior, rode nice, power sliding rear window. To me it would be perfect if it had a larger displacement engine. Too bad the fed regulations are so tight on trucks.
