No AC? WTF? Do you live in Paul Reveere's house and the historical society won't let you retrofit it?

 

My cousins lived in Lompoc CA and never had AC, don’t need it there.

 

Yeah. I live in Bishop. I don't have AC. It'll be 98 today and I will barely break a sweat in the shade under my gazebo. He's in Mass. It's a whole different form of heat when you throw the humidity in.

This is my families spot on the cape/in West Harwich. It was built in 1792 by ship builders, the shiplap throughout the house is insane. Boards 2-3’ wide and 20’ long. The historical society/preservation committee on the river is insane. I’m all about preserving ecosystems etc, but my sister and her husband bought land next to it and are trying to build a dock - estimated wait of about 5 years of hearings etc after they had to hire a scuba diver to check for existence of shellfish and other marine habitats/take samples (upwards of 10k for that alone).

If gme moons i’m buying the spot across the river.

To you west coast guys- do y’all wake up early so you can see the start of market day? For me I’m never awake that early unless I’ve got plans that require me to travel/drive a substantial distance. Curious if you guys are already awake for work/your normal schedule or if you guys wake up just to watch market.

 

I’m at work at 3:15am so it’s pretty easy to watch the market open.

 

I wake up at 0430 and have to be at work by 0530. I don't care too much about pre-market. Usually have already had a few cups of coffee and gotten a bunch done before the opening bell.

 

I'm up at 6am and out the door at 6:45 for work. That leaves me 15 minutes to watch the markets in the AM. Hence my use of trailing stops. lol

I put one in my kids room and that's the A/C shelter...
I never had A/C growing up either. I'm good with a fan. Even as a kid I saved up my paper route money to BUY my OWN fan...and then was pissed when I bought it and my parents went out the next week and bought one each for my siblings! I LOVE A/C but my wife want's a room 78+. She'll be under the blankets tonight even if the bedroom is 80+.. The ceiling fan hits my side of the bed.

Once you go central air I think you lose your tolerance.

 

Made the great decision to sell 4,500 shares of $GTii and use that to finance the $6K for NVDA calls...if they tanked..well so would I...But they didn't! So I can buy back in with reckless abandon on a dip...

 

The same could be said for plumbing but nobody goes out and shits in the backyard. lol

So there's a Taco Bell like a mile from my house, and I wanted some chalupas. Roll up and they got cones in front of the drive though. No big deal, I'll go inside. Locked. Temporarily closed due to low staff!!!

Well this is bullshit, but there's another TB a couple exits down, and I want my damn chalupas! They were open, but as I drove through the little retail park, every fast food place had help wanted signs or banners. Burger king, wendys, taco bell, steak and shake.

So coming home I decided to take a little spin through an industrial area, and same thing. Almost all of the warehouses had now hiring signs out. I even saw a place offering $22.50 per hour + signing bonus!

We've all been hearing about the labor shortage but never really put much thought to it until it got in the way of my Taco bell. And furthermore since fucking when do two chalupas and a bean and cheese burrito cost $13?!

 

As much as I love some Taco Bell, the value of Del Taco is hard to beat.
