I agree with both above. Maybe have a nomination thread, then a poll thread. A lot of people were just x2'ing previous people, and if I understood correctly, those votes didn't count.

Loved it! We should do it again. I think that the voting should be more organized with a poll. Like skidooman. It was a bit of a cluster of "x2" haha

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
I agree with the polling vice stating the build/quote/vendor in the thread. Might make the job of count votes easier as well.

Also since we are yapping about it why not a Taco of the Month and then pool those 12 trucks into a mass end of year vote. But only past months winners for that year are in there. I'd be more than happy to organize a taco of the month setup since there is a period to apply and then gather pics and stuff. I've got some downtime for it since it takes some time.

    It went fantastic.

Should last one whole month so that more people can get their votes in.

There are probably more categories to be had. But in less threads to limit confusion.

I believe this should absolutely be done again next year.

I'm amazed by how much this forum has to give, a truly fantastic community!!

    It's over? Who won?

Seriously though, that was not handled real well at all to be honest. There should have been nomination threads labeled as such followed by polls threads for actual voting and finally a results thread that lists ALL of the winners in one single thread. I still have no idea who won anything or if I actually voting or if any of my votes counted. I think it was a fun idea but not executed very well at all. For shame mods! lol

sticky all polls while running so they don't get buried. Maybe different categories as far as venders goes....etc.

How did you feel this went?
Good considering the time frame. I only voted for the vendor so I didn't watch the other threads consistently. The participation in the vendor thread seemed mature and from what I saw it was in the other threads.

What would you like to see done differently next year, than this year?
More time mostly. Maybe even a voting process where the top 10 are chosen and then the public votes on the winner. I think it would be cool to see more vendors get in on the prizes. I think I saw that Bob ended up putting out a few of the gift cards and I can only assume that's because other donated prizes weren't available.

Do you feel it was enough time to cast the voting?
No, since it's a competition of the whole year then I would think it would be reasonable to dedicate the whole month of December to voting. If you went with my idea of consolidating the top 10 and then voting for the winner then that could be done during January.

Which categories did you find the least interesting?
I found the avatar to be the least interesting and it could have been a topic truck related such as "Photo of the year" or "Video of the year".

Which categories did you find the most interesting?
I would have to say the "Shitllbuffout" was the most interesting to browse through. I enjoyed the signature and vendor as well. The vendor should be re-occurring IMO because the vendors on here put a lot of time in effort into helping the members as well as producing new products. Its a great way for us little guys to give them a pat on the back and say thanks (outside of giving them our money of course :p)

Is this something you would like the staff to continue next year?
Yes, it's a pretty cool way to encourage members to be more active. Plus it gives back to your most popular members who make the site what it is today.

Should there have been more or less categories?
If prizes allow, I wouldn't mind seeing a photography/video category. A creative one off category each year would be fun as well.

I thought it was cool, I assume this was the first year for this kind of thing on TW? I would've liked to have some more entertaining categories outside of the legit ones like best build, best vendor, etc,.

I think a category like "best up and coming" would be pretty cool, that judges the best builds in progress but that might be hard to differentiate between best build. I know voting on members specifically can turn into a shit show, but I think a "nice guy award" would be cool also. Whether the most helpful person, or just one that's supportive, or maybe one who's come through in a big way to help a member in need - I think that'd be deserving of a category. Not sure how that compares to "member of the year," but I guess IMO a different category.

Snarky categories would be fun too, but again I think it'd be easy to become a shit show or cause a lot of hurt adult feelings, but it'd be fun if possible.

Maybe some handy member with a welder could make a small trophy for "truck/build of the year," with a bunch of scrap gears/camshafts/other broken shit that's free and laying around. Flat rate that bitch to the winner.
