Just a quick simple question - my current battery is maybe 4-5 years old, and it's starting to get weak. On cold morning starts it really struggles to get going. Is it worth trying to charge it with a trickle charger, or when battery's get as old as this is it a hopeless cause?

Just replace it. It sounds like it is at the end of its life.

I just replaced mine 2 weeks ago. It was OK if the truck ran, but would not hold a charge overnight, so the next morning it would barely crank over. But If the truck only sat a few hours it was OK. If this is your problem, it should just be the battery. Just check the charging system when you have it replaced. I went to SEARS for mine.
