The tailgate on my o6 has a distinct "bow" in it. I have read a few threads regarding this , and have also read that Toyota addressed this problem in the later models. Is this true? What year did they upgrade it? If I was able to find a wrecking yard that had one, will it swap out directly with my 06? I use my truck as a "TRUCK" and haul firewood, dirtbikes, etc. and am expecting the inevitable.

If by chance you bought an extended warranty, then you can get it replaced with the heavy duty one under warranty.

I'm not sure if they did address the issue, because my tailgate flexes like it was a piece of cardboard. I really want it to bend so I can get the TSB done on it.

Have you tried getting the dealer to fix it under warranty?

Isn't there a TSB for this?

I think that the 08s on up have the reinforced tailgate. I suggest you not try to bend it.

yeah, but I don't think this should be called a TSB. This is essentially a warranty issue because they require it to be damaged before they do the repair.
