I installed my WeatherTech mud flaps today on my '23 Tacoma SR. I decided to leave them off but now I'm second guessing my decision. For those with WeatherTech mud flaps, did you install the plastic strips or leave them off? Have you noticed any rubbing on the paint or any other issues? IMG_7557.jpg

Those didn't even come with the WeatherTech's I installed on my '17 SR. Did they ship them with the insert/grommet for the underside screw?

My truck actually came with the grommet from the factory. I guess its something they changed over the years.

Good to know. I never had any issues with the WeatherTech flaps. They look and perform like OEM. I'll be buying a set for my '23 when it arrives.

I took the front flaps back off and applied the clear protection film. The film isn't long enough to cover the length of the mud flap. So I centered it to cover where it contacts the most. Hopefully over time it will cut down on the plastic rubbing the paint or worse.

That’s nice… I have Toyota MF on my ‘16 and there is some paint rubbed off when I take them off to clay bar and seal every year.
