installed my weathertech rain vents a few days ago, no prob until today, when i roll up the passenger side it makes a squeek and seems to rub more, at first i figured no big deal, until i got to driving around and realized it rubs and squeeks whenever i hit pretty small bumps etc.. i took it out and cleaned everything thinking maybe some mud was in there causing the gap for the window to be to small... no dice.. anyone have similar problem/a solution?

Mine just arrived today and I just installed them about an hour ago. Both the driver and passenger side rub in top corner as the window seats into the channel. I suspect the visors will seat into the rubber weather seal in time. I haven't driven it yet but after doing so will post re the squeaking.

Yes , they squeak in warm weather , luckily in freezing weather they don't squeak , they rattle instead .

Haven't had any real problems with mine though the drivers side one sometimes "sticks" and "pops" the first time I open the window on a hot day. I have a DC and have them on all four windows and don't have any issues with the others. I'm glad I got them and wonder why I waited so long.

So did you try to lubricate the window weather strip? Did it go away on it's own?

I know this is a thread revival, but I installed mine yesterday and am having the exact same thing. All windows seems to be fine, with the exception of the driver side front. The window kind of skips and squeaks into place. It doesn't sound good, and I'm not exactly thrilled.

They are great other than that...

No, I haven't done anything at this point.

I want to see if that fixed the problem for anyone else before I go screwing around with it...

I found this thread because I'm having the same issue. Just installed the weather tech visors and the driver window rubs/skips into place.... only on the driver-side. @Cowbow Taco, I'm also in a 2011 TRD Sport... I wonder if there's any connection there. Did yours ever get any better?

I don't know what to say. I have had the Weathertech window vents in my truck in since I got it in October of 2010. I actually followed the directions and left the windows up for the specificied period of time (24 hrs?) before opening and have had no issues with squeeking, rubbing, or loosening in cold weather. They work fine and I would recommend them.

Driver side cracked in the rear corner on mine and it squeals when it gets wet. The other three are silent. Only leaving that one closed for 8 hours after lnstall may be part of the cause. Its gotten a little better after sanding where it rubs with 2000 grit sandpaper.

Damn. I overlooked the 'leave windows closed' part of the instructions. Hopefully it's not too late.

Yes, mine got better. I did not lubricate anything. I just had to clean it several times. I used some Simple Green and either a CD or the blunt side of fingernail clippers to press the cloth into the channel. The combination of keeping it clean and repeated use seemed to alleviate the skipping/jumping issue.

I later developed an issue where the passenger side would slap around and sound like I had a pair of golf clubs in the backseat anytime the passenger side window was down. I eventually sold them on Craigslist and haven't missed them since.
