It actually depends on where you have the main unit and the internal antenna mounted. It should have very good separation from the internal antenna to remove any signal feedback that could affect performance of the unit. I mounted the main unit under my driver’s seat. The internal antenna is mounted right next to the Expedition Essentials 3TPAM which makes it right next to my phone. The external antenna is mounted to the back of my roof rack on the passenger side.

Does anyone have their Weboost hooked to a switch pro? If so, did you need a separate run to the battery?

So these things work, even on download?

I did a bunch of research and from what I learned, sure, it gives you more bars, but these will decrease your download but increase your upload (I'd rather have higher download speeds).

I bought one but returned it because I didn't think I could get enough separation from the front of the cab to the rear of my roof rack, but also because of the above reason and the fact they are expensive.

I've never heard that about the decreasing download speeds. In fact, my download speeds have been zilch, with a single bar and no LTE. Turning it on often bumps that to 3 or 4 bars LTE, making downloads possible. So zero to possible is definitely an increase.

As for space between the two antennas, my internal antenna is hanging on my cell phone mount on my dash, right by the windshield. My external antenna is right in front of my hood, so however long your hood is is my distance. And it's direct line of sight with nothing but a windshield in between. I also know multiple people running them on their roof racks with no issue.

I use a Feniex Mini to run mine. I wired directly to the unit with no relay. I think Weboost max is 4.5 amps from a quick search I just did online.

The magnet mounts are pretty easy for the smaller antennas.

I have the very lightly used Rhino Racks mount and have been thinking of trying the Weboost overland mount as it’s smaller and cosmetically speaking, for my mounting style, I think it’d look a smidge sleeker. My mount is the only thing on my topper, so it’s 100% front and center on display and the Rhino Racks one is nice, well built and functions very solid…but bulky looking.

If you decide to part with it and wanna trade, PM me and we can talk.

To contribute to the thread, mine is mounted to my topper rails (no roof rack, just the factory rails on a topper). Ran the wire between the bed and cab, under the cab and through a grommet under the passenger seat to inside. Inside antenna is on the passenger side B pillar, but going to move it to the middle console soon. Maybe 4-5 linear feet of separation between the antennas. Only been running the setup for a few weeks, works great for me.

Here’s mine. Topper rail mounted. Antenna is ran between the cab and bed, down the frame rail and up under the drivers seat through a grommet. Inside antenna is above the map lights, ran down the headliner/A pillar. Base is under the drivers seat with power snaked up through the underside of the center console to the cig lighter.

Anyone have one of the antenna holders they aren’t using and wanna sale? I can find it for sale by itself. This:

Is that the "inside"antenna mounted on top? If so, is it weather protected? The instructions direct to mount inside, so I was curious how durable the antenna is and how well yours works.

    Thanks in advance!

thats an outside antenna it comes with some kits that dont have the big flip up antenna. this is the 200 dollar kit so it doesnt have an inside antenna. It did its job and boosted reception when i was in the georgia mountains from no connection to a connection that was working.

    Try these from Tnutz:

    T-Nut 1/4-20
    https://www.tnutz.com/product/st-010/

    or

    Quarter-Turn, Drop In Stud – 1/4-20 – Nickel plated
    https://www.tnutz.com/product/qtb-010-a/

    or

Use the 1/4-20 x Length carriage bolts, washers/nuts from your local hardware store and call it a day.

Thanks for the Tnutz link! Picked up some random hardware to fab a bracket for vertical mounting on my Prinsu. Pretty stout :)

Side note: hid the massive internal Reach RV antenna under the dash,... Looking to test Wilson's "Omni-Directional" antenna performance claims and will adjust accordingly, should placement present interference. So far, good boost with no oscillation :)

Thanks! Happy how it turned out.

I removed the original plate from the Overland mount and replaced it with a modified corner bracket from T-Nutz (e.g. below). Pretty straightforward work. Simply drilled/countersunk the bolt holes then painted it black and it worked like a charm. You can see the disassembled Overland and modified bracket sitting on top of the Weboost box in the picture below.
