does it matter if you get the shorter antenna or the longer one they seem to have the same boost.

thats what i was thinking. Seem to be rated with the same boost/gain but taller generally means better. Folks go with the fleet version or the regular cell booster version?

I like the fleet version and I’d go NMO or the Beercan version. The NMO fleet version seems to be cheaper online. I want the fleet version because it can be hardwired rather than cigarette lighter.

changing out the antenna later is fine so I’d go with smaller to get a cheaper price. (Not the sharkfin looking one the short fat stubby round one. :)

Seems the short stubby and the taller one are the same price so was curious which was better to get. I do like hard wired and likely what I would do as well with the other comm crap I have.

I have been watching for sales on these for a while now. Almost every time the fleet setup with the NMO antenna (stubby) vs the taller trucker version (has the beer can shape at the top) shows up, the one with the stubby is $50 to $75 cheaper. If you have space and are willing to mount it on your roof, it should be as good as the taller one if not then the taller one is better. I figured I’d give the stubby a shot if there are some $savings involved. If they are the same price the longer, trucker version is the way to go. Mostly because you can get it above the truck much higher and it does not require a metal plane for best reception.

The hard part of a GB on this (I think may be) the starting price the vendor is using for the 20%. If it’s retail then it may be out of range for me mainly because most I have seen show retail and then a pretty large savings to make them more appealing for the consumer. (And I’m cheap) I am getting to the point where I actually am going to need one so I can overland and “work remote”. A good, long range, reliable cell booster is almost a “need” ;)

This would be good chatter in the other thread for those who might be considering one. The sales price is off the listed price. For instance, the 4G-OTR MSRP is $625 and listed for sale at 500. I believe the 20% is off the $500.

@ramonortiz55 , can you add a link to the other thread to the OP?

There are two video reviews (after the unboxing one) you should watch in the GB thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...hing-on-the-alltechsource-com-website.689956/ to help make up your mind. I wanted the tube antenna for a few more dB gain but you may not want that one, however I believe it is the same price after discount anyway so why not get the better one?
