Yea, thats why I was asking about the antennas being interchangeable. This little mag mounted antenna isnt really suited to be put on the end of a whip type thing and elevated. Im planning on reorganizing the roof rack some soon, have to see how I can finagle this thing for its max visibility. The older soda can antenna allowed for options, this one just doesn't.

check out the OTR antenna. Its the most powerful one they make, omnidirectional and looks pretty rad. Couple that with folding mount...cherry set up IMO!

The small shark fin mag mount one.

The larger antenna kit showed up today. Trying to workout how to mount it in some adaptable way (allows flipping down when not in use)

I'm guessing some sort of RAM mount.

Thanks for the updates! This thread is too short for this forum, we need to build it up!

Once I get my truck back from the shop, I'll do the same thing for my 2015 Tacoma

Ok so I did some mock up tests using an old Leitner bracket I had laying around and the bracket it came with.

I can confirm all of these things:
    1. The bigger antenna is compatible with the new Drive Reach model (comes with the shitty sharkfin antenna) https://www.weboost.com/products/drive-reach
    2. The cable that comes with the kit has a different connector. You will need one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SV4NZ76/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_yIVsFb6RC91XS to get the larger cable into the amplifier. The kit comes with an adapter, but it didn't fit for my application.
    3. The signal is WAY stronger and the amplifier goes green immediately. Before it would flash red and green and sometimes stay red.
    4. It definitely boosted my signal in my driveway where I get shit reception for some reason.

    6. After 20200829_174841.jpg
In fact this entire post is on my phone. I couldn't even send a text before in this spot. So I would say money well spent.

one thing to look for...that OTR antenna comes with the spring and bottom bolt...both have substantially rusted on mine already. Def not stainless.

You definitely could. nothing makes one of these any better or worse for a car/truck/RV etc then the next EXCEPT the latest technology and power. I think the DriveX is toted as the most powerful unit they have made to date. You can look at the specs. Power is the most important thing here and as the FCC changes regulations on how powerful these things can be, they try to stay up with the technology. Pricetag, in this case, usually follows.
