yeah, everything has sacrifices. you can get pretty far in a 4x4 sprinter these days. and then you have the dirtbike for the rest. kinda seems like a cool idea until everything is covered in snow and you wish you has a snowmobile on the back

There's so many tradeoffs, sacrifices and generally diddling around with various rigs. Some have this, some have that, and so on, and so on, and so on . . . . .

There’s a guy near me selling a KTM 500 EXC with the timbersled conversion. Lights for the winter and road legal for the summer.

You could always get one of these sweet vans. Better mileage than it’s larger counterparts and would rip on some 31” Boggers.

A lil this a lil that.
Mine would leak there as well. It seemed the water would come through at the top of the bulb seal on the side doors, and run down the top bar and drip. Does anyone get drafts from the gaps between the the snaps where the tent snaps to the frame. I used it extensively with two people and noticed drafts. Maybe because I was literally right next too/up against the tent portion.

Saw this posted in one of the Drifter threads. Probably appropriate here as well, seeing that he's owned both the GFC and Drifter

So I was in the long line over a GFC, waiting for a build, but after lots of digging through photos, and checking out my buddies very closely, I changed my mind.
I sold my spot in the line and just put a uuuge deposit down on the Vagabond Drifter.
The space seems much more livable and roomy for the kind of camping I like to do. I'm pretty excited to get this wedgie on the Tacoma and outside!

Welcome to the waiting line! I had a deposit on a GFC until winter hit. I realized that the Drifter would be a much better living space in the cold months.
