SO Im thinking about getting a Alu-Cab Canopy Camper. Would love to hear from some people that have one. How are they holding up over time going off road and how they do in a rain storm that lasts for longer then a few hours. Im taking like a few days of rain? Thanks Chuck

I can say that I have loved my Treehouse. The build quality has been great and I have taken it everywhere I want to go.
I am selling my Taco/Treehouse only because I built a Transit 4wd poptop for SEMA. Otherwise we would be all over the southwest in ours.

Interesting but having done the flippac in the past I wouldn't be jumping on this type of wedge. Looks like more of the same as far as I can see on their website.

I thought it was a joke at first because it looks pretty damn similar. It's like they saw a GFC or simply too the exact specs from the internet and tweaked a few things.

I do like the idea of having a t track on the top side of the tent instead of only on the sides. The lack of cross bracing in the sides is also pretty cool. However, the tweaks appear to make it heavier than a GFC and a thicker tent area with closed.

Honestly, setting aside the fact that GFC is a proven product and the developers provided lots of detailed product info, both of these look like potential improvements, with the huge caveat that there’s very little detail on their sites, particularly Harker. The latter’s annex solves my big problem with this style of camper, having owned a FlipPac (like @ETAV8R) and considering a van now. So why do their website photos barely show it?

To each their own, but I feel like the Harker isn't in the same league. Doesn't look like it has a good mounting system up top, longer to setup/tear down, that tent might be useful to some but with any wind it is going to be more than annoying, and simply without any look inside it just doesn't look as polishes as the other wedge options.

Whoa slow down tiger. Aside from the mattress and tent material replacements, the leaky rusty tubes, the bowed extrusions, and the gaps between the tent snaps that allows bugs and dust in, GFC is still dealing with hinge failures.

I know this may seem biased because I have another camper, but first and foremost, I am a Tacoma enthusiast. This is unacceptable to GFC owners. So many people are unable to get out and camp because their campers are breaking. Not to mention the guys that do camp and always have it in their head that they have to baby their hinge so it doesn’t ruin or end their camping experience.

I hope that GFC becomes a proven product; there is definitely a market for them. But lets not sit here and get caught up on the hype. People need things to work in real life and not just in Instagram pictures.

Don't forget the doors that are literally falling off by splitting at the hinge...

To be fair, I had one of their very early campers, used it hard in some pretty extreme conditions and didn't have problems.
