Thanks for this. Sounds like either way I go it will work out. Out of box would be nice but really like the idea of having them perfect for my weight.

If you decide to do the Alcans make sure to first call Lew (the owner) and talk with him. Since they are custom made-to-order there is a lead time with getting them.

I had mine installed on-site in Grand Junction and timed it out so I could hit them up on the way back from picking-up my camper in Prescott, AZ. I had to plan it all out months in advance, but the convenience of not having to drive back out to western Colorado for the leafs made it worth it! Shout-out to Alcan!

Deaver will also build custom, FYI. That's the route I went, and I was actually pleasantly surprised with the price - but it's very possible it was just based on the way my pack was designed (fewer, heavier leaves for more capacity with minimal lift).

I don't think you can go wrong with either company, though.

$1200 installed. I had specific requirements for load/lift and they made it happen.

Did you make or buy the internal box?
Where did you get the track on the outside?

Yeah internal box was all made by me to fit the dimensions and my setup has a 19 degree angle to the wall so I wanted it to tuck in there with no gaps.

The rails on the outside are 8020 rails in their 1050 series profile.

Same here. I couldn't have any extra lift or I wouldn't fit in my garage with the camper. They figured something out to add 1,000lbs capacity with no extra lift. I think cost was around $650. I'm easy driving distance to them so their guys were able to test and install to make sure it worked.

Pretty stoked to be joining the wedge life soon! Just put my order in for a Harker EDC and they have lead times of 4-5 weeks right now!

Any tips on prepping the truck for install? Like waterproofing etc.

Anyone need a temporary interior build? We are giving away a wood prototype interior build for a Tacoma long bed, 2nd gen. We are in Seattle. Would work with any type of wedge camper. Send me a PM if interested and I can send pictures.

Alright, 56 pages done! Well done team, great stuff here. I'm:fingerscrossed: picking up a new to me drifter next weekend :fingerscrossed: and am super excited for this next chapter. Has anyone had luck sourcing a tent insulation package for it? Anyone made their own?

Congrats on the Drifter. I believe the Vagabond guys have one but I know some have created their own. Strawfoot might be another place to check out. There should be velcro near the ceiling on the inside already to attach the insulation to, not matter which way you decide to go. I personally haven't experienced enough condensation for it the added insulation to be necessary. I did test out one of those cheap diesel heaters the last time out and it was amazing for those extra crisp temps(single digit to negative overnight lows).

Cheers, might see what my mom can sew up if we decide we need it. She loves a good sewing project

One other question for those with the gullwing doors. I swear somewhere in one of these threads I saw someone had put some molle panels on the inside. Does that ring a bell for anyone?
