This is an awesome thread! I put all my solar stuff behing the back seat inside the cab. I have a Ecoflow Wave 2 coming in today which will be nice with this ridiculous heat.

@snwbrdr852 Can you talk more about the diesel heater and elevation? I've used mine in 7-8k' several times without issue (also have blue controller + little portable remote). When do you feel you need to tune it to account for higher elevation? I figure better to know beforehand than to figure it out at camp

Yes!! But also welcoming other camper builds to gain ideas

**Disclaimer first, that I'm not responsible for anything anyone does with their heater, or any damage they may cause screwing around with them.

I came across this page (tuning info starts ~ 60% down the page) that talks about tuning before I ever installed mine, and decided it sounded like a good idea and a simple enough method. So it's honestly just always been something I do when either I change elevation significantly, conditions change significantly (intake air temp, etc, can affect the mix too), I just don't remember when/where I last ran it, or any combination of those factors. Just for context, I made myself a little spreadsheet that outputs my fuel settings based on elevation as a starting point, and at sea level it's low: 1.1Hz, high: 4.5Hz, and at 10,000ft it's low: 0.8Hz, high: 3.2Hz. Don't just blindly use these, btw, cause these heaters can vary from one to the next.

Like you're saying, clearly it's not necessarily needed for the thing to run, so most people aren't worrying about it, or even aware it's a thing, really. But I will say that I tore mine down after like 1.5-2 years, and there was almost no cleaning needed in the burn chamber. If you've seen any teardown videos for these, I'm sure you'll agree that that's a pretty good indication that this tuning method is working well. That being said, if you're mainly running kerosene, supposedly that stuff burns really clean anyway, I don't know... I just run whatever diesel is available at the pump - don't believe I've ever run red, though.
It's also worth pointing out that for the price of these things, not worrying about tuning, cleaning, etc and just swapping out the heater for a new one every few years might be a totally reasonable route for some people too...

If anybody wants to try doing this tuning, obviously read that page first. And note that my black controller is not the common black one you see with round buttons. It's the one shown here (Color:Small Monitor). Oh, I also had to add my own wiring connectors to make the controllers swappable...
You could also just attach a multimeter thermocouple with the right temp range to the outside of the burn chamber to read the temp that way, if you know what you're doing. I won't post the codes to get into the controller settings here, but if somebody wants them (at least what they are on mine) or my spreadsheet, you can dm me.

Side note, if anyone wants to learn more about these heaters in general, I highly recommend this Australian guy's series of videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLne7MoW21Rk01DYGGfOqIbYt6H1ZFSFks

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Thanks glad to be able to help when I can. It's unfortunate it takes people like us stepping in to make things right but If I can offer up my facility/equipment to help those effected while not effecting my day to day too much you know I'm doing it! The amount of support we have received over the last few days is amazing I have a list of volunteers and companies that want to donate time to help me assemble when the time comes. This community is truly tight and always has been I'd like to keep it that way.

We started a T start campaign to help get this going so if you want to show your support pickup a #Vagaboned shirt on the site and tell your friends!

Has anyone insulated their tailgate? Is it worth it? Thinking of just shooting it with some of that spray insulation stuff.

I cut up some insulation leftover from home carpet install into my bed before I put my bedrug and tailgate rug in. Maked it much nicer to sit and climb around in.
