Oh god, you should have seen the Jefferson Forest Range down 460 from VT back in the 2010-2012 times. So many fudds doing sketchy stuff. Quite a few of us on the cadet marksmanship team would wear out ballistic plates to the range after a few incidents.

surpised at how decent these are turning out to be. Gonna let them cook by this heater a little longer to hopefully not cover them in fingerprints

Honestly, we had it better than athletics. Granted we dont have the academic assistance...

It was a grind, but you learn how to work through it. Once you made it past freshman year, you got a lot more leeway as well. Granted they have it a lot easier than I did. Late my freshman year was when a lot of reforms got put in and took away a lot of the military school "experience" thanks to a few incidents. I can tell you that the duck pond is not meant to be swam in, let alone in blue blouse.

LOL id love to see that. I had a guy in one of my classes get demoted back to low ranks from a squad commander (maybe) he was in charge of a lot of cadets, and pretty much told one he would throw them down a flight of steps if they kept fucking up, which didnt go over so well with the head guy in charge.

@Ubaderb here is a basic way that I went about doing my drawer system. I'll be doing a battery swap whenever the weather clears up so I can show the electrical stuff then.

Side note- yes I know it looks like a bomb went off in both of my garages next garage will have more storage which im looking forward too, so dont judge me too hard.

First Steps-cutting to size, I cut my cross members and the bottom piece using the bed mat as a template

Second- After I had my template I spaced my side walls out to the dimensions I had drawn up. Essentially I wanted enough room to fit a small Coleman double burner in one of the drawers I believe they are roughly 18in each.

Third- I didn't have much money to spend on the fancy drawer slides a lot of guys used so I got the cheapest 40in heavy-duty slides off Amazon and I made a backplate where the drawers would stop. At this time I made my drawers and used a Marine carpet on the bottom to help with rattling and to also look nice.

Fourth- I made a cutout for my cutting board and added some quick storage all from Walmart. To keep the cutting board still I bought two cutting boards and cut the 2nd one up and glued/screwed rectangular strips to the bottom of the board to keep it locked in. These strips were also placed at the same width of my tailgate skin so it would lock into place on that too. ( I thought I added a picture of the storage but they are just little rectangular bin organizers from Walmart you can find them in the home goods section for fairly cheap.

Fitfh- I painted my skeleton in a waterproofing paint and sealed all the wood to help with any water that may of gotten in to mess things up. I also made the front of my drawers and wrapped them in the same Marine grade carpet.

Sixth- I cut my top pieces out to size and then using a 3m adhesive spray (same to get the carpets to stick) I added horse stall matt to the top, I clamped the pieces of wood overnight sandwiching the rubber with wood clamps and came out the next day to cut the edges. Last I added an Aluminum strip to the front to clean it all up.

I still wanted access to my bedside cubby knowing one day id put a compressor there so I did not plate off the driver side gap. I did plate off the passenger side gap where I added a Blue Sea monitoring system for my battery and two switches for led Strip lights I had ran on my cap glass and windoor. The wires for the pannel are ran on the side wall of the drawer facing the passenger bedside to keep them out of the way.

Fast forward to the future. I had one set of my cheap slides completely fail on me from most likely being shaken around on the trail. I just picked up my dometic for 500 bucks from a guy who bought scratched and dinged ones on fb he sent the slide and the cover for an extra 80 bucks. Not knowing how massive it was I figured the best bet was to take out my broken drawer (which turned into mainly a strap/junk drawer) and replace that with the fridge and slide.

I built cabinets for 2 years so making the drawer system was pretty second nature for me. I mainly used a circular hand saw, jigsaw, drill, screws, wood glue to make the body. For the rubber and the carpets, I used a 3m 90 adhesive spray. I did end up messing up one of the pieces of rubber which I need to redo by getting some diff fluid on them and it caused the adhesion to fail and the rubber to act funny, I can cover that in this thread also.

I hope this kinda covers what you were looking for I know it's not super detailed but the drawers were built about 3 years ago so its kind of the best I can pull right now.

I lied sport mirrors on, the harness has all the needed wires but signal function does not work. I’ll be diving into this soon and will put updates on here
