Ya, but I don't have a way to protect the gear and SWMBO would shoot me if this camera gets wet and fucks up.

You don't have a water tight bag?

    easy..

Stick camera bag in trash bag. cut to slits for the strap. Use gaffer tape to tape off the straps.

I forgot I had a small thing of matches in my wallet and started a small fire to warm my hands.

Soooo I froze trying to take pics. The wind picked up and the part I don't have for the tripod is the little screw to keep it from panning. Made quite a few photos blurry. I also realized I was dumb and didn't bring a flashlight. Sooo the walk back sucked :p.

My last retard moment was forgetting that I could change the ISO  Couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting much out of the shots until about half way back to the truck it dawned on me.

No worries, on a perfect summer night I will be back at that spot . The clouds rolled in fast soon as the sun set.

I did the same thing with my ISO. I had it @ 100, aperture f/3.5, shutter was 30 seconds, and it was still waaayyyyy underexposed. I sat there for like a minute wondering wtf... Then I remembered drrrr ISO, dummy. hahaha

Love the light trails for traffic, Kevin! I thought about doing that except there was no traffic in my area tonight..

Here's my entry, the Sandy Hook Lighthouse built in 1764. I was hoping to be able to get a shot of it when it was snowing but the forecast said the snow would arrive after the deadline.

Single exposure at 30 sec, f/5.6, ISO 400
