was playing around with my camera tonight and I went back to loo at the info on my old pic one more time and it does say f36, so I pull out my new camera T4i and it also goes to f36. but only at the 50-55mm range anything lower and it stops at f32.

Damn I really like the lighthouse and car lights they are fantastic great job! I really wanted to try both of those. I wish this challenge was this upcoming week instead of this last one. My 1.4 prime lens gets here Wednesday and I think it will be interesting to see the difference that it makes. And forecast is calling for temps in the upper 20's, it hasn't been above zero any night this last week usually teens below. Been up here long enough now that when I ordered my camera I also got 2 spare batteries, below zero they last ~20 minutes before pulling a spare from inside my coat and replacing it. Zero to freezing I get about double that.

Been out 3 nights the weather hasn't cooperated here for anything I've wanted to do either. But have learned a lot and a lot more to learn and experiment with. Heavy falling snow at 30 seconds gave me solid white which was a bust. Not sure I like the thermometer in the Taco I almost stopped for a shot tonight crossing the Mississippi but it said -11 and at this point my first thought was screw that, and I stuck with it :p

Don't really have anything I'm pleased with I wanted movement and lights too, so all I got is this. Was a bit more windy than I wanted in more ways than one. 31.3 secs, F5.6 on a F4 lens, ISO 100. At -17F air temp and don't even want to know the wind chill.

Thanks, chenbro! The trick for me was stacking photos ;) That way I could take a 10 photos each with one to three cars going through it and stack them to make it look like heavier traffic.
 That is one awesome shot! I love how crisp the light beam looks

This has been my favorite challenge so far. I love how unpredictable it is. When I took my picture all I could see was a faint glow from the suns last moments. The stars weren't there and the color was a dark gray. All I did in that photo was bump the brightness and lightened the sky behind the clouds a hair.

I see myself getting out more often for these shots when the weather warms and I can see that typical Wyoming sky .

nice man. I love night shots like that.

and actually the winter is the best time to do them. The cold air is crisper and clear compared to the summer. And due to the farming dust and forest fires could be hazy..but i for sure can't wait to do some shots up at elevation this summer!

I was pissed this weekend driving to MN. I wanted to stop at the WY/SD border and shoot a star trail sequence with the "Wyoming forever west " state sign in the foreground. Damn clouds ruined my plans, would have been cool. Someday.

    for winner!

It's always cold in Snowy :D and it seems to stay unaffected from fires . There are some amazing areas up there that I stumbled across last summer and cant wait to capture them.
