I just missed the most epic sunset . . . I know that's not the challenge but I'm still bummed :( haha saw it out my window, went bolting out (after getting boots and coat on) with tripod and mounted camera in hand, slapped it down and it was too late. Stinking buildings and trees were in my way I didn't have time to get out to the edge of town.

Tomorrow night I shall wait for it (and it probably won't come) haha lame.

hehehe, got you guys thinking about night shots. :p
Can't wait to see it, Monte

And yeah, I hate how fast sunsets go down. On my first day shooting for the sunset challenge I was running all over the place trying to find a good scene. I've definitely run faster for sunsets than for class or appointments...

^ Get it dude! Honestly I've not been impressed with HDR and dark ish shots... Always looked better when I edited an overexposed "single" shot in LR instead of HDR'd it. Probably because I can't leave my ISO at 100 and get enough exposure time... 60d limits it to 30 seconds... stupid. Gonna have to fix that with a remote and stuffs.

Yeah, man! I got a relatively cheap little remote from best buy and it's been really nice. I got some nice starry night shots a while back...then I tried to take a super long exposure (like 30min) and then at the end the battery died and I found that the lense cap was on anyways... DOH! I was kickin' myself so hard after that.

yea i alsway keep it at 100 ISO..but yea i hate the 30 seconds thing. Ill probably do the Magic Lantern hack here soon to open up the real long expousers. But for now 30 seconds has been enough. Usually lots of light at that long for city stuff. Star stuff though out in Wy..id want much longer.

but that shot i did last week was HDR..actually in the original photo all you can see is the sun..everything else is black. RAW shooting is awesome haha

hopefully this turns out good. Was freezing! i needs some gloves bad..

    30 minutes?? from a t2i? WTF! haha

and i set all my HDR stuff with the 2 second pre fire delay so that there is no wiggles from my had right away as i don't have a remote. Then it also fires all 3 bracket photos in a row without me touching it again.

off to edit..think ill get something okay..not super though..

Nice Monte! Solid arch capture. You HDR that? The close up street signs look a bit staggered on the edges. Seriously cool tho!
