yea id try and fix the distortion before hand. PTgui the software i use does this for me so i do mine at 18mm and get great results. But shooting at 30-50mm is really nice too.

Just gonna have to play with it and see what happens

no lie...gonna be hard to judge..might have to be very picky..

and yea i know you don't like wide angles. The distortion is the style of it though and some like it. I know i don't mind it.

Bad ass pictures so far! I tried using the panorama mode on my cell phone the other day but it wouldn't work. Not sure if the windy condition played a factor :(

Yeah, I really like the lens, but I dont mind the distortion, and actually kind of like it on some shots. The lens definitely has its place though. I think I am going to rent a 100-400 when the wife and I go to Maine.

I've tried it in the living room just to be familiar with it. It takes a large overlap and does a very good job of stitching from what I can tell. It's basically a high quality JPEG that can still be processed some once you're done. Obviously doing it after the fact with RAW files will afford you more processing and stitching liberties but if I'm ever on vacation and just want a quick pano of something I won't hesitate to use the feature. Should be fun with my 14mm.

Played around with the panorama feature on my phone tonight. I like the results.
