Non-entry since it was last week.

I took this last week in Utah (screenshot from a video I recorded). I feel it still fits this weeks challenge as we were worried about being stuck in a monsoon that night and flooding preventing us from getting out in the morning, but we stayed dry thankfully.

Oh yeah, as a prior UT resident, some of those southern monsoon storms can get hairy quick.

Worst was doing a 26mi slot canyon hike, only about 500 yards of it would be safe if you got caught in a flash flood. The log jammed across the slot canyon 30 feet over our heads confirmed that fact.

That particular photo was while we were camping down Blue Notch Road. We heard the thunder coming, then saw the clouds but everything stayed to the NE of us. Some sprinkles and a good light show. There was probably 10 different water crossing spots on the way out that would have been pretty nasty had it rained.

We got lucky this trip. We dodged around storms each day, and the last morning as we were getting ready to head home we got caught in the front side of a big storm rolling into Moab. The wind picked up which is what woke us up, stepped outside and it was black to the south. We had just enough time to collapse down our tents before the hail came, so we skipped breakfast and headed out right away and stayed ahead of the heaviest parts.

I thought I would repost the original rules since there’s a bunch of new participants.

This little corner of the Internet has really gotten me out and doing a hobby I hadn’t been doing much of for years.

    Good thinking.

    The other unwritten rule is:

Once a winner is chosen, the user must be relentlessly tagged until their appearance to choose a topic.

Now hop to it, @rnish !
