Great challenge and excellent entries so far. Here's mine... tried to deviate from the standard "vanishing point" photo, but not sure if it technically counts. I'll let Peter decide.

EDIT: Whew, cutting it a little close for comfort there. 17 minutes to spare!

Excused :D Post it on flickr!

That's great your parents were able to come visit! Wont be long and you'll be seeing them again at semester break!

It's easy when life is busy or full of other things to forget or not get the camera out each week. No worries, be great when you get back ;)

    Nice shot Dpick!

Nice work this week guys! Tricky challenge for sure!

Pete: I really like the framing here, and the hazy day really help diffuse the light and eliminate distracting shadows. Draws your eye very nicely and the edit is subtle and clean.

Mike: Definitely nailed the vanishing point theme. I would think this would be much more interesting from a landscape standpoint at either dusk or dawn. The high sun and blown out sky doesn't really do it for me. This one could have lent itself to B&W as the tones are fairly subdued.

Marc: Very cool shot! I appreciate the effort to setup and replicate an idea. The shadow really is the focal point. Not sure if you added the graininess in post or if it was in the original shot, but I think it adds to the end result with a film-like feel.

David: I'm really drawn to this type of subject. Nice adaptation of the vanishing point idea with the curving point. The movement of the light trails and the curves make it very attractive to the eye. Typically something you don't see B&W also, which in this case makes it quite interesting. I like how it's very high contrast as well, which eliminates the distractions of the trees and other shadowy areas.

I have to say it's a re-Pete though, as his shot most closely hit the challenge title with a good framing and edit. Congratulations!!

I'm back home and alive with a tad bit of time before homework :p

    So new challenge!

Lighting, however, can not use the sun or a flash.

Not looking for light painting. But a nice, detailed sharp image that uses a source of artificial light.

    Go!

    Congrats Pete, great job!

Marc you nailed it halfway between La X and Winona. During the summer average about 1 snake per 10 yards I like this time of year much better LOL.

I was walking by some people and snapped a shot from the waist. haha no do-overs there.

I just needed to bump my SS up but the ISO was already maxed out and aperture wide open, which I didn't want. Just too dark sometimes :p
