Thanks everyone for the great response. The pictures submitted are fantastic.

Photography Background - I am not a professional photographer, nor have I had formal training in photography. I am not familiar with photography concepts, only the ones that I have learned on this thread. I simply enjoy the challenge of trying to capture the subject that my eyes are seeing. I truly admire the shots that are taken for the weekly challenge; they are truly amazing at times. For this reason, I have started to save for a “good” camera, rather than using my cell phone (Galaxy s5). If you have any recommendations, PM me.

    On to the pictures:

@shipps: Bitchin STI. Love the time of day that this was taken. Looks menacing.

@TinyTech626: Cool subject. Really like the vines around the coupler. Brings back memories of listening to a train that moves from a dead stop and all the couplers make a noise as the momentum starts.

@WildLand: Nice collection. I like that the picture has both metal on top and inside. My buddy used to put his caps on the drip rail of his 63 beetle

@Beers: The lighting is incredible in this picture. So crisp, such detail.

@davidpick: Another bitchin STI. The reflection on the side of the car is awesome. Based on the position of the car, all you need is tire smoke. Love the abandoned structure

@Blackdawg: Digging the out of the box subject. Like the way you have focus on some of the shot and not in others. Really brings out the individual pieces in part of the board.

@medic2230: Reminds me of work, which luckily, I enjoy. I like the lighting of the picture as the background behind the laptop is dark.

@Don5352: I like all the different types of metal in the picture. The weathered look of the vice is really cool and adds to the look of the wood.

Winner: Beers! Truly awesome subject and photo.

    Official entries:

    SconnieHailer (Marc):

Great subject. Train tracks provide a great flow with the gentle curves. One item that stood out to me when I first saw it was the pole with the box on the left side of the image. It was a bit distracting. When I clicked on the photo and it took me to your Flickr page, I zoomed in and my monitor did a crop that I thought looked very nice. It zoomed in to remove the post and created very strong flow in the image to the train lined up in the background while also making the curves more prominent. Give it a try and see what you think.

    WildLand (Josh):

Very nice colors and flow. I like how the eye moves from the foreground item to the horseshoes and then on to the dark portion in the upper left. What is the foreground item? It certainly adds some mystery for me.

    TinyTech626 (Liz):

I like this subject. The hose leading to the truck gives me a sense of activity and wondering what was going on. There are curves everywhere, beyond the hose but it is not directing my eyes in any one direction. If you have access to that equipment you have some very strong subject matter for all kinds of photos.

    Spintly (Greg):

The last bit of light hitting the field really highlights the curving path. Add in the rolling hill and it really fits the theme this week.

Great entries this week everyone! In the end, the image that really grabbed my attention and flowed my eyes was the one from WildLand. Just a very well composed and lighted image.

    Winner: WildLand!

:woot: thanks! Here is a clear picture of the the subject matter. The dark spot was a cast iron bell while the curved piece is called a devils claw seed pod - the branches hook around legs of animals and that how they are dispersed.
