Really nice shot Doug! But unfortunately it's almost 2.5 hours late getting in by the deadline. Therefore I just can't let it in to be fair for everyone else. I did really like that you posted a setup shot of your gear. I hope you understand.

I want to start by saying that I am impressed with the turnout this week and everyone did a great job! I wasnt sure how having a technique based challenge rather than a subject-matter challenge was going to work out. Cheers to all who submitted an entry as well as those who tried, but did not meet the deadline or exposure length requirements

With that said I am going to have to pick @NateWest as this weeks winner! It is a great shot! I really liked the color in the Milky Way as well as the detail in the foreground with the trucks and communication equipment. We wont talk about the Jeep.... Congrats and please PM @medic2230 with a new challenge for this week.

Actually technique is usually some of the better one's to do. It gets people out of their comfort zone and you learn something from it. Could be something you've never done before or something you're not comfortable with doing and makes you do it again to where it's not as hard as it seemed.

I totally agree. My biggest concern was how many people may be turned away for perceived lack of equipment/ability. That turned out to be a non-issue though as we still had a great turnout. I gotta give a shout-out to one of the "failed" entries. @AeroCooper had me feeling like I was going warp speed in the passenger seat of his taco with his shot. Loved it.

I'm stuck using a s7, so equipment was my issue. Couldn't get any of the long exposure shots to look good, or even presentable. Always this week though to get one submitted!

Where there's a will, there's a way. Even on a point n shoot if you lower the light then it's going to take a longer exposure usually. This challenge was started mainly for DSLR's to improve technique with them but look at all the ones with cell phone's that have kept up. If they can do it everyone else should be able to with all the apps out there. Sometimes the challenge has fewer entries because of the posted challenge. Might be something you need a camera for or they're just scared to try it. The challenge has always been to do whatever you can do. Just attempt it, doesn't matter if you fail or it doesn't come out as good as someone else's photo. It's about learning and growing with your photography. No one here is going to make fun of you because your's didn't turn out like a pro photographer did it. We're not here to measure dicks, were here to improve and you're not going to improve if you don't try something new. You may just figure out that the way you were doing something could be done another way and get a better outcome you like more.
