Not quite :) Cold Iron is the term used for a US Naval ship that has the Engineering Plant shutdown and is not underway. It is receiving hotel services from the pier and in its home port. I have been in a Cold Iron status for a bit more than 20 years now.

It is also the title of a poem by Rudyard Kipling which I like that in essence states that the sword is what always wins in the end.

GOLD is for the mistress - silver for the maid" -
Copper for the craftsman cunning at his trade! "
" Good! " said the Baron, sitting in his hall,
But Iron - Cold Iron - is master of them all."

Normally I am in SD right now pheasant hunting with some other retired Navy and AF guys but work interfers with life once again this year. Never done a pheasant tower shoot but those that I know who have enjoyed it. I have a friend down in Iowa that puts on several tower events a year he raises more than 40K birds annually and some get thrown out of the top of a silo that has been converted for birds\clays. Not sure it is for me, I do enjoy shooting a lot of clay targets all year long however.

Rattle can baby. Easy to fix and I don’t mind pulling it off to paint it. I usually do the sliders once a year anyway.

Ok. I really like that bumper. Have you hit any deer with it?

Also, what is that dark spot on your rear fender?

I can't speak for Murph, but I have hit two deer in the last seven months and the only damage to the truck or the bumper is one of the deer hits scratched off a 2 inch section of the powdercoat. The insurance company should give me some sort of discount...

Actually I was just on the way home from dropping off some donations, and I saw the colors. So I went back and took some pictures and had a cider. They also make excellent ciders.
