I was thinking this morning on my walk back to the truck from surfing that I wish I had brought my camera. Was really overcast and starting to sprinkle a bit. Probably could have gotten a good shot.

Dark gloomy skys make for some great pictures. Severe weather is bad, but it does make for great photo's. Especially shelf clouds coming thru.
I took this with my cell back in June of last year. Was so awesome when she blew thru! Hope the link works haha

There’s gotta be something with the uploads on the forum. When I posted my drone pics it was WAY more grainy than it should have been.

I guess, I’m not gonna say it’s perfect but it doesn’t look like a moldy potato on my phone.

Saw some weather on the way to work this morning. Couldn’t stop though because I was in a hurry.

Whenever images or attachments arre posted on websites and social media they get compressed and the resolution is lowered. Otherwise people shooting RAW would jam sites up because the file size is huge compared to a regualr jpeg. All files are smashed (at least to my understanding) so that the servers dont get cluttered

Makes sense. I know there's an upload file size limit on here already though, as I've had to resize a few pictures before uploading.

Yeah it’s 20MB file size limit, a full-res RAW file when I’m shooting is somewhere around 56MB if I’m not mistaken.

I just looked up some of my RAW files, they range from 25MB-29MB. But I also use a crop sensor, so maybe if you're shooting with full frame it could double in file size

Post #1 says "Please keep the photo to under 1200 pixels long edge"
If you reduce them before uploading them the server won't have to, and the quality will be better.

    Thanks Mr. Know-It-All :D

Maybe I'll try that next time I actually take a photo for a challenge. I've never really thought about changing the pixel width/height much after editing.
