Holy balls I won! I was so impressed with so many of this weeks photos. @snapspinner had a hard decision on his hands.

Gimme a minute and I'll think of a good one.

    Edit: PM sent to @uhplifted

Also, as this week's winner, I formally disqualify @My Name is Rahl for being whiny over my choice of photo subjects. :D

    Ignored.

Also, I'm always whiny for every challenge. I shoot pictures with my cellphone. It's a part of being a 3rd gen owner.

I won with a cell phone shot. And not a very good one at that. So pitter patter.

Here's the drop tank buried in the sand and how it got the name "the missile"

There's also the Jeep Gateway not far from there:

And someone used it for target practice. Although a drop tank is not quite the same as a bomb or artillery round. Guess it is better than shooting at a Stop sign for the hell of it.

Have hunted on the Navy Dare bombing range in NC and also Fort Hunter Liggett in Ca. Both places have large signs saying "Do Not Molest Unexploded Ordnance". Always wondered who the dumbass was that prompted those signs, but there is one in every crowd.

Well this is like 20 miles out in the desert so no worries. Just north of the Dugway ranges and east of the Wendover ranges.

Subjectively, "the missile" sounds better than "The drop tank". It's decorations change every time I am out there too.

I know what you mean on the UXO signs. I used to deer hunt out on MCB Quantico and those signs were all over the place. Only once did I happen to come across a set of mortar fins sticking out of the ground.
