Ugh! I'm dying here! First day at my new job and all I can think about is who the winner is and what this weeks challenge will be. Where's a cattle prod when you need one?? lol

Lots of great submissions this week. I had a hard time choosing but in the end I chose this shot because the awesome pop of color and the sneaky reflection... Very creative!!!

Subject can be anywhere, anytime and of anything. BUT..the exposure HAS to be EXACTLY 1 second.

This will be a very interesting challenge.

How can I stay in compliance with the one second exposure rule with my iPhone ?

 

There have been about three entries from each. I'd be more concerned if everyone was using a point and shoot. I'd hate to be "exclusive" but the point of this thread isn't to be fair and it isn't to "win". The whole point is to get people out shooting things they otherwise wouldn't. Some guys in here will have never taken a longer exposure than whatever Auto mode gave them. That's fine but now, because of this challenge, they will have to figure out another way to work their camera. Same with the street photo challenge, sunset, whatever. They are to get you to try new things and grow and learn as a photographer. So it only makes sense to cater challenges to cameras that allow you to grow as a photographer. I guarantee you there is a way to make it happen on a point and shoot. I don't know what that way is, but that is the beauty of having "limited" gear, is that it forces you to get creative and figure out the limits, and break the limits, of your gear.

Yes, some will not be able to participate or will struggle due to not having the right gear. I apologize to them but this was never for people really with cellphones anyways. Doesn't mean i don't want you participating, but you are limited. This thread is to help those of us with DSLRs really try out new things we never would normally. Most if not all of us are not professionals and never will be. So this gives us an outlet to have a dead line like a pro, and get assignments like a pro and shoot things we would never normally try.

Again, i am sorry to all with point and shoot camera's and mobile devices. You may have to sit this one out, but not always. I have an app on my ipad that will let me adjust tons of parameters for it. So there are tools out there.
