K..Took a shot of Barley (the coolest Lab on Earth) with a friends mut(Chip) in the background. IMHO bokeh is lens relavent and one of the best super fast lenses is the Nikon 50mm 1.4G. ISO 200, 1/640. Special thanks to the models.

Hopefully not too late just got home and back to internet\cell phone service, If so it was still fun and educational. Until recently I had no idea what Bokeh was, have had my camera for 3 weeks. When I was researching lenses Bokeh often came up when discussing high end fast prime lenses and how creamy and smooth the Bokeh was, or wasn't. I do not have any fast prime lenses but I was on vacation this week in the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness so it gave me a chance to experiment with my camera and the different lenses that I did purchase. I wanted to have a subject with full clear focus and foreground and background Bokeh like many of the examples I saw when looking at lenses. One morning I threw out some sunflower seeds and corn out a window with snow up to the bottom of it for the birds to come in close to the cabin. Bit later looked up and there was a whitetail buck eating the bird seed. Slowly grabbed the camera with the 60-250 F4 and the dog got curious about what I was doing and jumped up on the shelf in front of the fireplace to look out the window. For a couple of seconds the dog and deer were eyeball to eyeball and I was able to focus and lock in on the deer before all hell broke loose.

Not exactly creamy but overall I'm pleased with what I used, LOL 3 weeks ago I couldn't even clearly focus on a deer let alone a small bird in the woods. I downloaded Lightroom before I left and it is my first time working with RAW format. This thread is great at making me learn my equipment and technique and is a great idea IMO. I have a lot to learn and have already learned a lot on this site of all places :) And now I am looking at short fast prime lenses.

Chaz, badass! What lens? You got a little green ring but the shot is killer. I'd like to see it in B&W

Not very creative this week. I was pretty frustrated last night trying to get something around town. Finally had to set up something at home.

Still have time to run to Walmart for a new card reader.
